Bible Walk Cruises and Rich Green

I grew up in Hawthorne, California and graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1964. One year later Alison, the girl I had fallen in love with during our Sophomore year, consented to marry me and in June of 1966, she made me the happiest guy in the world.

In 1976 I graduated from Biola University and planned to continue my education at Talbot Seminary, with the eventual goal of going into the pastorate. However, the Lord had different plans and one by one the doors closed on that dream. Our first two children were born during my time at Biola. Over the years that followed, God blessed our home with four more children, bringing the total to six. I ended up in sales and in 1983 we moved to North Texas due to a job change. Eleven years later, when laid off during a reorganization, I began the process of seeking what the Lord wanted me to do with the rest of my life.

In 2003 while attending a Walk Thru the Old Testament at our church, the Lord spoke to my heart, impressing on me that I should get involved with the Walk Thru organization. I contacted them, applied to be an instructor, attended instructor training and began teaching Walk Thru the Old Testament. In April of 2005 I began working with Walk Thru the Bible, as a State Director, selling Walk Thru seminars in several states. I noticed in our database, that on several occasions an attempt was made to package Walk Thru seminars on cruises. This endeavor had been met with little success. However, the idea for Bible Walk Cruises began to develop. I gave it little thought at that time, but in October of 2006, my wife and I went on a Caribbean cruise for our 40th wedding anniversary. All I can say is it was so far above our expectations that we wanted to go again. That opportunity came in February of 2007 when Alison's office went on a 4 day Caribbean cruise and husbands were invited to come along. After that I was hooked, and wanted to figure out a way that I could go on more cruises. I began to think again about combining a Walk Thru the Bible event with a cruise. I began to see the difficulties that went along with packaging a seminar with a cruise and came upon the idea of doing a Christian Marriage Romance Cruise. I spoke to several people that hosted Christian Romance Websites one of whom as Paul Byerly who publishes two daily emails, “The Generous Husband,” for men and Paul’s wife Lori writes, “The Generous Wife,” for the ladies. Talking to Paul we decided on a strategy and are now planning our first Christian Romance Cruise in November 2008, with hopes to follow that with many more in the future. The need for this type of cruise seminar is very evident, with divorce and family problems at epidemic rates worldwide. I believe that if we can reach husbands and wives with Biblical Principles that will help them “Romance” their spouse, we may be able to help salvage Christian marriage in America.

It is still my desire that in the future, Bible Walk Cruises will offer the Walk Thru the Old Testament seminar on our cruises, however the timeframe for that has not been determined yet.

One of my goals it to keep the cost of our cruises at a reasonable rate so that very few couples will be prohibited from attending a Bible Walk Cruise.

Further, in 2009 and thereafter, I would like to offer other venue's with speakers addressing various topics that are relevent to the Christian community.

I am very excited about the potential that Bible Walk Cruises brings to the table of Christian Travel, and look forward to serving our Lord Jesus Christ by serving you in the years to come.
